Interiorem respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Who we are

Interiorem is an online store, journal and makers directory based in Melbourne, Australia. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Interiorem.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to run the store and respond to you:

• Order information — your name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number, and what you bought. Card details are entered into our payment provider's secure checkout and are never stored on our systems.
• Account information — if you create an account, your email address and any profile details you choose to add.
• Enquiries and applications — anything you send us through our contact form, our seller application form, or a consignment assessment booking.
• Newsletter subscriptions — your email address, if you subscribe.
• Technical information — your IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, collected automatically by our hosting provider in server logs.

How we use it

To process and deliver your orders, respond to your enquiries, assess seller applications and consignment requests, send you the newsletter if you asked for it, keep the site secure and working, and meet our tax and consumer-law obligations.

We send marketing email only to people who have subscribed. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers that make the site work, and only as far as they need it:

• Wix — hosts this site and provides our store, checkout, member accounts, forms, bookings and blog. Order, account and form data is stored on Wix infrastructure.
• Payment providers — process card payments through Wix's checkout. They receive the payment details you enter; we receive only confirmation and the last digits of the card.
• Webkul — provides our multi-vendor marketplace. Our sellers page loads a script from Webkul's servers, which means your browser sends them your IP address and browser details when you visit that page.
• Google Fonts and CDN Fonts — serve the typefaces used across the site. Loading a font sends your IP address to those servers.
• Delivery carriers — receive your name, address and phone number so they can deliver your order.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

Overseas disclosure

Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States, the European Union and India. By using this site you consent to that disclosure. Where we can, we use providers who commit to protecting your information to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember what is in your cart, and keep the checkout working. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site — the cart and your account in particular — will stop working properly if you do.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No website can promise perfect security, and we cannot guarantee it.

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, or as long as the law requires us to — order and tax records in particular must be kept for a set period. After that we delete or de-identify it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You can also unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time.

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, tell us first and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The current version always lives on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
